Regular Army Cadet Uniform

The Airdrie Army Cadets (Calgary Highlander) follow the standard Royal Canadian Army Cadet Uniforms (CATO 46-01).  This page however simplifies it and modifies it slightly as needed to list only the information useful for the Airdrie Army Cadets.  Cadets from other Army Cadet corps are advised to check CATO 46-01 or talk to their commanding officer.  Air and Naval cadets are advised to transfer to the nearest Army Cadet corps.

This page only outlines the basic uniform and not the Highland kit issued to more senior cadets.  That will be covered in another page.

You may notice that some cadets have berrets while others have a diced glengarry, also known just as a glen (the hat with the red and white checkered band).  The reason is that cadets are initially issued a berret.  Once the cadet has gone through the Calgary Highlanders exibit at the Calgary Military Museums and correctly answered a test on the history of the regiment, then they will be presented with the glen.
